Olivia Brill
Currently studying a BA Hons Textiles Design course at Nottingham Trent University, I am in my 3rd and final year. Originally from a small town called Bury St Edmunds I have the contrast of living in an urban city and a rural town.
Throughout my practice I aim to create meaning to my work and encourage engagement through exploration. Using sensory quality’s that approaches research into health and wellbeing, this collaborates a method of design and product that builds a playful and positive textile. Telling a unique story and allowing a feeling or response that can be calming and approachable to all, forming an unconcise connection between others.
Taking influence from my surroundings and through travel it allows my practice to be broad and current. Informing ideas of pattern, scale and texture through into all aspects of my work. Working on live projects with commercial brands such as Romo, Black Edition and Joules alongside my experimental brief I am keen in being diverse through my practice.
